Won’t You Please Show Them Some Like?
Blogging is an adventure. I have discovered multiple, umpteen uber-talented people who write so much better than I do. Some of them make me laugh until my face hurts. Others, on occasion, cause a tear or a torrent. People actually exist in the planet known as the blogosphere who have challenged me to cook, and I’ve done it, and the results didn’t suck.
Some of these bloggers have Facebook Like Pages. Today, I’m going to do my best to list them below. Please, help these stupendous people out but clicking on the link provided and clicking Like at the top of each page. I thank you, and they thank you. We’re all just a big, mushy knot of gratitude.
(Note: Even though I have the letters CPA behind my name, I am not detail-oriented. If I read you, and I somehow failed to list your Facebook Like Page below, please provide it in a comment. I’ve tried to grab everyone, but I am the most fallible person I know. I’ll be happy to do a follow-up post to feature the people I missed.)
The Good Luck Duck - The adventures of Roxanne and Annie in the RV are sometimes hysterical, sometimes a visual feast, and sometimes a lesson on composting potties. All of it is interesting. Here is a link to their Facebook page: I Like Me Some Duck.
The Jester Queen - Jessie is a real mom and a gifted writer. She doesn’t gloss over her life. She tells it like it is. The truth is refreshing. Here is a link to her Facebook page: I won’t jest The Jester Queen.
The Tale of my Heart – Zahir writes a lovely blog, both visually and by wielding words. Plus, she’s one of the most giving bloggers I’ve met online, never failing to show up and click Like on whatever I write. Here is a link to her Facebook page: I Like Just Simply in Love.
Cameron D. Garriepy - Why, why, WHY didn’t I discover Cameron months ago? She writes a mix of things, and she does them all in a voice that leaves me in gap-eyed wonder. Here is a link to her Facebook page: Liking Cameron means I have taste.
Tori Nelson - Laughed until my face hurt. Check. Soiled myself a couple of times. Check. Caused MTM to spit coffee from relaying story from Tori’s blog. Check. All I can say is FUNNY. Here is a link to Tori’s Facebook page: Liking Tori means I have a sense of humor.
Kate Shrewsday - Kate is the writer I wish I could be. She weaves stories that leave me breathless. In fact, my bladder wakes me up at 4am every morning to read her posts from England. Here is a link to Kate’s Facebook page: I like Kate because I have class.
Yaakov Bar Am – Reading Yaakov makes me feel closer to my Dad. No, my Dad isn’t Jewish. No, he doesn’t make exquisite wooden bowls. No, he doesn’t even have a beard. But, he does like to wield wood. Here is a link to Yaakov’s Facebook page: I like me some Yaakov wood.
Surface Nuisance - Brett Myers is a writer. He needs you to visit his page and tell him to write more words. NOW. Here is a link to Brett’s Facebook page: I want Brett to write more words.
Elizabeth Yon - Elizabeth is the person you’re going to like and say, “Wow, I liked her before she became a famous author.” Really. Her writing is luminous. Here is a link to Elizabeth’s Facebook page: I am a literary genius because I like Elizabeth.
Critters and Crayons - Tricia inspires me to make pre-school projects for MTM. I have a list. Creative. Hilarious. Loves her kids. Here is a link to Tricia’s Facebook page: I want Tricia to teach me the dino meal.
Liking these people costs you nothing. It won’t clutter up your newsfeed with things you don’t want to see. It will help people who are all struggling to find people to read their words. Think of it as your Friday Good Deed.

Andra, I have rarely met a more generous writer than yourself. Always with the giving
Thank you for your help. FB pages are still a bit of a mystery to me. Wonderful to see so many great writers and friends on your list. I’m off to like everybody right now.
I just hope it gets more readers for deserving folks.
A great bunch and I follow most of them already, although not all on Facebook, I shall remedy that situation forthwith.
Your warning about Tori’s blog making you laugh yourself silly is right on target. Kate is soooo good and it challenges me to reach a little deeper each day for a better understanding of the amazing language she lays on us.
Thanks for sharing and I’ll be a little busy doing some FB linking now.
I still say RED LIPS AND BEEHIVE on Tori’s blog. RED LIPS AND BEEHIVE.
Yes, yes, yes. I’m still politicking for that myself! Wow, I think I’ve gone Metro-intense Sexual!!
Don’t men love that look? (she wonders obsessively as she wipes at her cat eyeliner………)
You don’t have to give up your Man Card for voting.
Thanks for the links!
Thank you for broadening my reading horizons.
I try.
I’m honored to be in that list, and you have reminded me to get my butt in gear and put together a similar post very soon!
These posts are always fun to do, yet agonizing because I know I always forget someone.
I plan on looking at these links this weekend. Thanks
Enjoy!
I went to Facebook first and said WT … people like me? Thanks for this, Andra; you are very generous with your airtime. I’ve liked all these splendid people, and now I can sit back and let their humor and smarts just roll over me, like God and Zuckerberg intended.
Ha. Zuckerberg intends for you to pay him to get Likes. This is a ‘screw him’ post.
Haha! No shame. I pee myself all the time… and almost never from laughing
Love your other bloggy friends and I’m excited to get some class and literary genius from them!
That you could get a big laugh out of MTM is something you should pat yourself on the back for, Tori. He almost never does the big laugh.
Making others feel good is never a waste of time.
I hope not, Nancy.
Wow. Thank you so much, Andra. I really want to live up to that review. Once again, you’ve inspired me to work harder.
I hope things are going well on that front, Elizabeth.
Kate beat Lou! Kate beat Lou!
Ok, now that I am done with that little bit of foolishness, I shall go look at somem more of these – though I check out a good number already.
To the Like-mobile Batman…..
I’m sure she is always awake before Lou, since she’s five hours ahead of us. Even though he gets up at 4.
Andra, thank you thank you! I was wondering myself why I hadn’t tumbled onto your blog a long time ago, only I’m not focused enough to put together something so generous as this.
In the spirit of this, I should give credit to Earlybird at Mangetout, Etc, for leading me to Kate Shrewsday, who in turn led me to you. It’s a wee little wonderland when we start down the rabbit hole.
Yes, I have found several amazing blogs through Earlybird. She is the one who makes me cook things that turn out.
I shouldn’t, but I have to agree with the proclamation in the graphic you included with this article.
Haha. I thought the sign was hilarious.
Andra it’s so good of you to mention others like this, to help them. I’m going to start liking right away!
Thanks Neeks. I need to do this more often.
Andra, you are so awesome!!!! Thanks so much for the inclusion! So glad we blog-met.
Sorry for the re-comment if you got this one- I think my comments go into people’s spam boxes for some reason. Ugh. Not sure how to fix that.
It worked! I got a whole bunch of new likes thanks to you, Andra! So thankful!
Glad to help, Tricia. It has been so much fun following your blog.
Thanks for the links, Andra. Unfortunately, I closed down my Facebook page last year so don’t have the facility to like anyone on there any longer (I also don’t want to open it up again as it became too intrusive for me..) so, that leaves me with only one other option. To visit the blogs, and do the liking there instead! I will find the time… I will. I will!
I believe you, Tom.
And, I agree with your FB stand. They really are too intrusive. I try to use it to keep up with people and little else. But, the writing folks will expect me to be there…..
Been there, done that — previously with some, and today with all the rest. And, true to your intent, I’ve found a few places where I’ll be heading back for more!!! Think I’m going to have to invest in a cushion for my desk chair, or find a good callous remover!
I need a cushion, too. Happy reading!!
This is just perfect! I’ve been working on just this thing today; Like loving other bloggers and their pages as well as subscribing to a load of RSS feeds. Thanks for all the work you’ve done in compiling this list. We’ve never “met”, so “How do you do?” I’m Debbie and you can find me at http://debbiesdays.wordpress.com/
Debbie, lovely to meet you and your blog. I cannot wait to vanquish this headache so that I can crack open the computer and spend some time there. What I just read was lovely and varied, just the sort of thing I like.
Andra, your generosity in spreading the love and helping others grow their community is humbling and really beautiful. xxxo
Helping others is a good thing.
There are so many gifted and talented writers in the blogosphere, and you are one of them…generous, too! I’ll check out some new “friends” and remember to thank you for the direction! Debra
Enjoy, Debra! I got a kick out of Beth’s post today. Those doggies.
Thank you…
Hi, Andra! I tried to like Your FB page but couldn’t find the button. I am new to the timeline you are using (thanks for liking mine).
Thanks Gustavo!! I have a badge for FB over to the right on this blog. You can click Like right there, without even opening FB.
I have to get me one of those badges!
What a fine dedication to some of your friends
and I have enjoyed browsing your Space today
Have a wonderful Monday…
