He Touched Me
Gospel music is fueling my series this week. Elvis Gospel has been the specific inspiration, for reasons readers will divine in this post. We have a winner, a spare, and several possible surcee recipients, because the theme was……….
Andra and MTM Renew Their Marriage Vows In Vegas!
Nobody who knows us would ever expect us to come to Las Vegas and renew our vows. That’s why we did it.
I got my hair did.
MTM gave me a sweet card. Waiting to go into the Little White Chapel.
We did it! Again!
(Re) Married in the state of Nevada.
Souffle wedding cake.

woohoo! congratulations again!
Thanks Eugene. It was a giggly good time.
Congratulations………
Lovely pics:) I wish you all the best
Thanks Zahir. Lucky seven is a good year to renew vows, I think.
How very cool!! You guys are just plain cwazzzzy….in a wonderful way.
Haha! I wandered around The Venetian and The Palazzo yesterday afternoon. Talk about cwazzzzy………I was afraid to walk into any of the shops.
Way to go! Now hit the casinos and win again. Are you going out hiking or doing stuff in the surrounding area? I hear there are a couple of good model trin shops out there.
The honeymoon starts this afternoon, once MTM gets back from his work things. Posting about it over the weekend. If I see any trains, I will be sure to snap some pics.
Congratulations! I can’t get the sound bite at the top to do anything but buffer so forgive me if I am duplicating anything…There are all kinds of gospel…

What is so funny about your link is this: The Doors have been something of a theme here. They have an electric explosion just steps from our room in the Fremont Street Experience, and we watched the whole thing the other night.
The thing above is working now, IF you want to listen to Elvis croon He Touched Me. It’s really lovely. I much prefer his earlier stuff.
DOES NOT stay in Vegas! Bring all that “wonderfulness” back home to Charleston. You guys rock. Elvis would be so proud.
I’m crying. I cry at weddings even when I’m not actually there…
The pics are fabulous.
I’m with Angie! I love that you were in what appears to be a white dress! Reverse of the original.
You two lovers come back here and set an example for the rest of us!
Cheryl, it is an off-white dress I’ve had for years. I bought it on a ninety percent off clearance at J Crew, back when they were first producing wedding stuff. I wear it on fancy nights out once in a while. I never thought it would be my vows renewal wedding dress, but it fit the occasion. It was great that I didn’t have to buy anything. I wore a pair of blue suede shoes MTM gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago. An homage, you know.
When we first started this little adventure, we were going to have Elvis conduct our wedding. That ended up being more of a deal than we wanted in the end, so we had a very nice, proper minister instead.

And they got 7′s! We’ve been married 7 1/2 years. Funny.
Congratulations!
Thanks Steve.
I love it!
Many congraulations- what a wonderful thing to do
We’ve seen many versions of your comeback Elvis since we’ve been here.
They’re EVERYWHERE.
Oh my!!! You’re right. never would have expected that! Congratulations!!!!
We had the best time. The couple two ahead of us were from Houston and had been together for years, but were getting married for real in Vegas. It was the first place they ever came together on a trip. It was really sweet.
Grats part deux!
If you need a chapel rec, the one was used was perfect.
heh, I’ll keep that in mind
Congratulations. You two are an amazing couple and I’m very fortunate and blessed to have received the opportunity to connect. You open my eyes to beauty, grace and continual love.
I’m glad you reached out to me, Lori. It has been a joy getting to know you.
So Cool! Congratulations!
I don’t know how I didn’t blurt this out to you the other morning at Rotary. We only told Lou and Miss TK, Mike (from Rotary) and his wife Jill and my friend Alice.
Congrats! You looked lovely (and very happy)
We were laughing hysterically the whole time. It was so much fun.
Congratulations . . . again!
Wonderful love story continues…..
(I was totally in the dark on this one until quite late last night while catching up with comments on yesterday’s post, and suddenly realized someone had hit the nail on its head!)
I gave a ton of hints yesterday. Nancy logged in at the right moment and got it, and Robert was right behind her. Lou actually put it in the comments on Tuesday, but he knew what we were doing, and I didn’t want to reveal it that soon, so I tried to keep things going for a couple of days.
How totally awesome! That’s another ‘signficant life event’. Definitely not a marred one either. Hmmm. There’s ‘encounters with the divine’ as a possible theme there….
There isn’t souffle wedding cake in the others, so that can’t be a theme. It’s just awesome.
And I’m guessing your hair sucked in the diving knifers event (and who knows how it looksed as a little kid) so ‘best hair day ever’ doesn’t apply.
Can you tell this is driving me nuts?
Getting married (again) in Vegas is the theme. No more hidden meanings this week, unless people want to hang around for the honeymoon trip. And, I hope they will, because we are taking an excellent honeymoon trip.
That you never take each other for granted, that you do so much to daily, and weekly remind each other of how fortunate you are to have each other is what sets you apart.
My dearest Bill is your peer in this. He regularly calls me out of the daily routine with a kiss, a look, a caress.
I hope in my own way that I do the same for him.
Because everything must be nurtured. It is wonderful that you two have found so many fun, unique, just-for-you-two, ways to nurture your love and partnership.
Congratulations! *Throwing rice, rose petals and shoes* NOW!
Thank you, Cheryl. If you and Bill ever want to run off to Vegas, I highly recommend it. (I never, EVER thought I’d say such a thing, either.)
Congratulations and wishes for many more years together!
The Thunder from Down Under is here, Lucie. I laughed out loud when I saw the ad.
I am SO jealous. I begged Dan to run off to Vegas and get married. Maybe this is an idea I can plant in his head for our 20th anniversary (in a couple of years)! Congratulations again and btw, your hair is lovely.
Jill, we had an amazing time. It was so tacky and cheesy and absolutely perfect. Thanks about the hair. I wanted something different, but the stylist insisted on this do, and I ended up loving it.
Congratulations!!!!! I’m super happy for you guys!
Thanks Andrea. Here’s to Elvis.
I’ve enjoyed the way you took us along this week. Congrats! You guys look marvelous!! ~
Thank you. It was a blast.
Woo hoo! Here’s to . . . the two of you
As you renew and redo . . . your “I do’s”
We can only live happily ever after . . . on a moment by moment basis.
We try to make every moment count in our own wacky way.
I will contact you for your address to send your prizes.
Woo hoo! Prizes!
I’ll send you my address posthaste.
Gorgeous, truly gorgeous. So kooky, fun and romantic I just love it!
When we were talking about this at lunch the other day, I was still sort of ‘what idiots we are for doing this’ about it, but it was SO MUCH FUN.
Congratulations! Long life together to you! X
Paul, I hope we can do our third vows renewal in Ireland, with you serenading us. Wouldn’t that be something?
How stinkin’ cute and kitschy!! Congratulations…
Thanks Krista. And we did it on your birthday and everything!
So Sweet!
Thanks Emily. A big hug to you.
Thanks for sharing this event with us. I loved the pictures and am so happy that you folks are so in love. What a beautiful thing. Hugs to both of you.
It was a blast, James.
PLEASE tell me there was an overweight Elvis impersonator and the secretary was wearing something hot pink AND cheetah print! If I were brave I’d totally get married in Vegas.
Initally, we planned to have Elvis marry us. The upcharge was more than we wanted to pay for this little shindig, so we had a nice demure preacher man perform a very traditional service.
You’re getting married in Nashvegas. That’s the best thing, I think.
Wow! Congratulations, both! What an amazing choice, and a fabulous set of photos…Andra, pardon the liberty but you look absolutely stunning. That hair was worth getting did
(And MTM looks jolly nice too!!)
A kooky choice for us, but it was fun. No pardons necessary. The older I get, the happier I am to receive any compliment. I love getting a good hairdo. MTM doesn’t need as much help.
Lovely! As long as it didn’t leave you with a feeling of over-marriedness!
I don’t know how anyone can feel married in Vegas. It is quite a place.
Congratulations to you both!
Thanks Tom.
Many congratulations! Renewing your wedding vows is such a lovely thing to do.
It was kooky fun. I am so glad we did it.
Congratulations!
Thanks Annabelle.
What a beautiful couple with so much spark and spirit! I just must say it, “I like you!” Your enthusiasm for doing the unexpected is pure joy! And I’m glad, frankly, that you didn’t decide to renew your vows jumping out of an airplane! Debra
We were laughing the whole time. Neither of us ever expected to do such a thing.
So. Freaking. Cool.
Really, really cool.
Did I mention I think you’re incredibly cool?
And congratulations and best wishes on a continued happy marriage, and your fresh certification in Nevada!
It was incredibly kooky and lots of fun. And, freaking is one of my very favorite words.
