A Migraine is Truly a Pain
It makes writing a blog a real strain.
So Andra wants to ask,
That you take on the task,
Of using her pain to entertain.
.
While she tries to fend off her sickness,
A little challenge to your mental quickness.
So today is the time,
To work on a rhyme,
And show off your talent at limerick-ness.
.
The limerick packs laughs anatomical,
In space that is quite economical,
And the clean ones so seldom are comical.
.
The headache cure that she’s after,
Is a gentle but firm burst of laughter,
So contribute your best stanza,
To this rhyming extravaganza.
And she’ll be back tomorrow and thereafter.

Get well soon.
So Queen A is down hard,
Unable to don favorite ‘tard,
We wish you good health,
And publishing wealth,
Thanks to your Ninja Pard.
That’s the spirit; and she’ll be glad to hear it.
There was a young lady from Carolina
whose brain perhaps could feel finah
She fell into a fog
so that she couldn’t blog
and made MTM be her rhyma
Robert, to your salvo I must say Bravo!
Please give Andra some relief
so I will not get grief
Limmericks are not my thing
But I don’t want Andra to sting
So I’m giving it a try
Hope I don’t catch a stye
Oh I suck…
(Feel better Andra! GREAT JOB MTM! IMPRESSIVE.)
Hmmm. what rhymes with ‘suck’?
I know!!
That why the dot-dot-dot…
…
I got nothing. I’ll try to brainstorm.
I’ll consider a stab at it…but I fear I am “limerick challenged.” I see the tag “cilantro” and have to ask…did someone poison you? Feel better, and I promise to think of something to cheer you. Do you laugh when you read a piece of really poor poetry? D
There’s something fun about limericks
Especially those that boast gimmericks
They make us smile
And ponder awhile
On the sleight of tongue trickericks
Feel better soon!
I think one rule of limericks should be that one avoid trying to rhyme “limerick”….I tried to get away with gimmick/lim’rick earlier today, too.
Ah, but where would Dr. Seuss be
If he had limited his vocabulary
To words already written
Would we be as smitten
If it hadn’t called it a Truffula tree?
Awesome stuff,
Thanks, Lou!
There is a blogger most impressive
Whose pace is too excessive
The resulting stress
Has created the mess
Of a headache quite oppressive
Hope you’re feeling better already!!
Thankfully, writing does not give her stress…it is her release!
I understand that; but I marvel sometimes at everything ELSE she’s got going on (you, too, for that matter)!
Your affliction, unfortunately
One we share, so unhappily
I’m so full of meds
I’m seeing three beds
I so wish they could cure me!
I can’t really think of limericks on the theme of illness, but I hope this raises a smile…
There was a bagpiper from Fife,
Who daily serenaded his wife,
She hated the sound so,
She even threatened to go,
But instead slashed his bag with a knife!
I hope you feel better soon, Andra.
Ouch! I hate to think what she would have slashed if she was trying to rhyme with limerick!
Hahaha, good job you’ve banned that rhyming opportunity then.
There once was a man who thought twice
before adding more beans to his rice,
“I love them, alas,
in spite of the gas,
but that smell is really not . . . pleasant,”
And this is a really bad one…cause I was in a hurry, and wanted to contribute too:
Andra our friend is confounded
‘Cause her noggin it’s pounding.
So she took to her bed
Where she slept instead
Of blogging ’bout things she had read.
From migraines I do also suffer,
T3′s have become my new lover.
You’re under the weather,
I hope you feel better,
We pray you do not get another.
Never written a limerick before. I don’t think it was all that humorous. Actually, as limericks go, it was pretty lame. But I’m feeling your pain sista from anotha mista. I just had a five-day long migraine myself.
Hope you feel better soon.
I’m so sorry my brain is too dead to come up with something. Hope you’re feeling better, Andra!
Hugs,
Kathy

Hehe, it is
Migraines are indeed a pain. A bit of lighthearted verse never hurts, though!
It helps a little.
