Speeding along one lane Tuscan roads in a Fiat is the dream of many. (I gripped the seat and tried not to hurl.)
Olive groves. Wineries. Romance. Vintage bikes…….(oh, wait. I have to barf. Again.)
Not to mention how giddy MTM was when we finally got to Gaiole-in-Chianti. Bosom of L’Eroica. Where everything was this:
All of which cause money to evaporate from this:
Ladies (because all my male readers have run screaming at the mention of ‘bloody’ and ‘period’), have you ever tried to fight off the snake-headed Medusa? When you know ignoring it will only make it worse? How can I be all the L’Eroica I can be for my MTM, in spite of the fact that I feel like a demon with a forked tongue?
The L’Eroica is a vintage bike race in Tuscany. It has been running one lane Tuscan paved and gravel roads since 1997. Only 1,000 non-Italians are accepted by lottery each year. In 2013, my MTM was number 31 of 1,000. L’Eroica means ‘the way of heroes.’ Since I am on the rag, who is the real hero?
