Enter the To Live Forever: Journey to Charleston Contest

Today is the official launch of the To Live Forever: Journey to Charleston Contest. I was prepared to beg. And bribe. And threaten my friends to put this package together. I didn't have to do any of that. When I approached Chef John Ondo and Chef Nico Romo, they responded in less than 60 seconds: We'll do anything for you, Andra. Dean Andrews came through with luxury rooms at the exquisite Zero George. My dear friend Kristin Cobb offered cupcakes from Cupcake. The fellows at The Belmont wouldn't stand for the package to be without Thunderclappers.

Follow the links on the Prize Package page to see just how awesome this package is. Scroll over each item to check it out.

You’ve got lots of ways to enter, Dear Reader. Check out the flyer below, or see the How to Enter page. Every time you take a specified action, you get an entry. I hope you’ll enter lots and lots and LOTS.

Please use the hashtag #ToLiveForeverbook so that we can easily sort your entries. Without that hashtag, I fear we may miss you, and we don’t want to miss anyone. Get those fingers ready, and type, tweet, facebook and review your way to Charleston, South Carolina!

  1. I’m not much of a contest guy, but for you, I’ll do something. Pushups, maybe. Or a toast. Yeah. That’s it, a toast.

  2. Reblogged this on Poetry by Pamela and commented:
I have read this incredible book – now is your chance to do one better and enter the #toliveforever contest

  3. Solidarity. I just got back from a brief walk that was 2/15ths of your assigned daily trek. It’s a small thing, but it’s a something.

  4. Historical Fiction….now you have me interested. Wow!!! Now it’s on my Kindle. Ain’t technology amazing?

    1. The technology makes the buying and reading convenient, but the technology still can’t write it like we can….yet.

      1. I don’t think technology will ever be able to create a story because it is still dependent on someone to program and build the machine…yet…”Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated”.

        1. I thought y’all might be working on that kind of thing up there in that lab place you work at. Technology can probably do it, but is there a technology that can determine whether it is actually worth doing, and is any good?

          1. We have a saying here, if I was to answer that questions you would, how do I put this nicely, end up like Meriwether. In reality, we have a lot of really smart people working here, as well as at other Labs, that I have worked with on various projects. My experience has shown me that they are unable to teach common sense at university. I think this is where machines will fail if humans cannot master this skill.

  5. Dang it! <– see the impact your video blogs are having on me already?? I just know I've forgotten the darned hashtag on some of my social media shares. That better not cost me the win!! 🙂

Hope you got some duct tape and your feet are holding up.

    1. I set a blistering pace today; not as fast as usual, but blistering 🙂

      1. Aw girl…I’m sorry. 🙁
Tomorrow maybe my surprise FaceTime call. I think I’ve got your # buried in my email. Will go hunting for it mañana.

  6. One step at a time … don’t think of how much more you have to go; only think of what you’ve done already.

    1. I try to think only about the next mile-marker, what’s done is done.

  7. Did you want to stop at the KFC as much as Em did? Keep plugging away and I’ll keep watching from my easy chair and keeping my fingers crossed for the contest. 🙂

  8. that’s so cool, how they’ve all come together to help with whatever they could, in order to support you in this adventure )

  9. Wow! I just started to read the book and will, well, I will do something, Andra, and soon, soon, soon. Keep on walking, dear one.

  10. Its very nice to see many people coming together for this project.
