Wanna See My Cupcakes?

Thanks to everyone who came out to Cupcake Down South's Upper King Street Charleston location yesterday. Good news: I broke Dad's record for most books sold in one day. By a long shot. He'll NEVER catch up with me. Bad news: MTM has been kissing me non-stop since I got home. He shared his Very Bad Cold with me, and I'm down for the count. Therefore, I'm leaving it to Mom to write today's post. She phoned it in.

If you celebrate Easter, enjoy the holiday. If you don’t, Happy Sunday. Either way, try to scrubΒ the image of an old man peeing with an ice cream cone in one hand out of your brains.

Because I can’t.

  1. The ice cream thing is easy. Left-handed operation on zip, extraction, aiming, reinsertion, rezip, and wash. Right hand concentrates on keeping the cone well clear of the action.

    1. If I was a man, I’d give that a go. Perhaps I’ll try using a banana. Just to see.

        1. I was more interested in the mechanics than the outpouring but I appreciate the additional visual!

  2. You have the rare gift of both inspiring me and repelling me at the same time. (just kidding) Congrats on the book sale record!

  3. Really? Seriously? Roy is an amazement. And loved meeting your mom, finally. I so felt like I knew her that I really didn’t realize we had actually never met in person. Wow.

Oh, and of course thanks to James Moffitt for the lap dance.

    Fun was had by all!

  4. Oh, Andra, I see where your humour comes from. Good grief. Still laughing.

  5. Happy Easter! I hope the very bad cold leaves as quickly as it arrived.

  6. Ack! Here I thought I would see pictures of delicious cupcakes and instead you have given me a reason, yet again, for brain bleach. Thanks a lot, Andra!:-p

Have a wonderful Easter. Comfort your cold with some hot tea and a chocolate egg.

  7. At the state basketball championship in Butte, Montana, it was halftime and the Browning Indians were up on a White team from the east of the state. I went to the men’s room and happened to be using a urinal next to an Indian I knew, and we appeared to be the only Browning fans present.

As we were finishing up, the Indian asked me “Ron, do you know why Indians don’t wash hands after they piss?” This not being the case in actuality, I sensed a provocation but couldn’t help but go along and ask why. He replied “Because our creator taught us not to piss on our hands”

I wondered for a moment if we would have to fight our way out of the room, the odds looked long, but he’d judged it just right, no one was going to react with their whang hanging out and we escaped alive… (and skipped the wash on that particular occasion)

  8. Congrats on the book sales Andra!! That is 100% awesome! Now, good luck getting rid of that cold. It’s been approx one month for me and I still haven’t shaken it. Probably doesn’t help that I keep trying to run the second it feels like I’m getting better. Case in point: yesterday. Down for the count again. πŸ™

  9. Congrats on the book sales! That cupcake looks great! Now rest up and get well soon.

  10. Still unable to get into WordPress to “like” your post.

  11. Congrats on your sales, Andra, and thanks for making me laugh – as always!

  12. Gwah. Maybe Roy has a third hand? Now I want some ice cream. And cupcakes. Oh well… Happy Easter.

  13. Congrats on such a great event, Andra! I thought I’d seen everything follow guys into the bathroom (since the males in my family are unable to close doors) but nope, Ice Cream isn’t on the list. πŸ™‚

  14. WAY to GOOOOOO!!! I’m so excited for you. About the sales. Not Roy and the toilet. I’m just not coming up with a scenario that works, even if he was uh …. only doing number one. I guess he could get there with only one hand, but … seriously …. the GERMS in the ROOM…

    1. Yep…..same thought exactly, Jessie….kind of like keeping your toothbrush immediately adjacent to the toilet!!

  15. Congrats on all the sales. Not sure who’s the funniest — you, your Mom, or all of those who’ve commented here already!

So, so sorry that you’ve gotten the dreaded cold bug…this season’s variety has been a particularly strong one, gets a foothold and then refuses to leave for a long time; hope yours will be more charitable and be gone soon. Happy Easter.

  16. You are the worst with your blog titles, Andra… and don’t play all innocent with me.

    1. p.s. you girls are just jealous… guys have no problem peeing with an ice cream cone in one hand… give it a rest… right Roy?

  17. my bigger question is ..”How were the cupcakes?” πŸ˜‰
    I baked all weekend. (Hee)

hope you’re feeling better or at least taking a nap.

  18. How about if you put the whole top of the ice cream in your mouth – then you could do it. πŸ˜€ Congratulations Andra!!!! Get better soon.

  19. that’s awesome! even more awesome now that I’ve met them both. hahahahahahaha

  20. That cupcake looks delish!!!! Congrats on the book sales. Hope you feel better!!! πŸ™‚
