  1. Oh for God’s sake, Andra! Watching soap operas while you exercise. You should have one like mine that has a table top, then you could pen your novels while you peddle, and the architect can draw buildings when it’s his turn on the bike. Speaking of novels, I see some familiar titles conveniently placed in this photo. I have 4 of them, I don’t know what the little one on the end is.

Nice rant, btw, I will have to watch for that one.

My book of pictures: Natchez Trace Tracks in Time. TY for having 4.

  2. It wasn’t until I read your article that I actually saw this much discussed ad. My husband assured me days ago that if I felt the need to buy him a pelaton he would NOT be upset with ANY message I may be expressing with it. 😉 But, in truth. I have been in the hospital because a dog knocked me off of my bike (3 days in hospital, 5 weeks healing broken hip, longer to have the scars heal), back to the hospital when a deer knocked me off of the bicycle….etc…. Options for health and physical activity have become fodder for such anger? Apparently there aren’t enough things in life/this world for people to be angry about……..

Bicycles are scary. He’d probably be ecstatic if you got one. I’m sorry to hear about these accidents. Like with MTM, yours sound like they’re random things you encounter no matter how careful you are. His last one was caused by a guy riding the wrong way in the bike lane, and MTM crashed to keep from hitting him.

      1. I’m sorry for all of his accidents. I can relate to the randomness of it all. It’s been frustrating. Without exercise I would probably be dead by poor health by now. With exercise I’ve been so banged up it hurts daily. But I’ll take it.

Thanks for this post because we have turned the corner into whacky existence here. ?

Are you whole now? Or still healing? A broken hip is awful. I’m truly sorry to hear.

      1. Oh thank you Andra. This is ‘past’ experiences. I am ‘whole’ but pain is part of the picture now. It’s been a VERY long journey of get healthy, get hurt, get healed, and repeat. 😉

  3. I love your imagination and story behind the commercial. When I first heard about this and did not see a problem. Then I thought, don’t people have better things to do than dream up assumptions to debate? I continue to enjoy my minimal social media. I did find the medium app intriguing. Is it worth the monthly subscription?

Algorithms reward outrage, controversy and the lowest common denominator, because that drives clicks.

I think there’s lots of interesting content on Medium.

  4. I think advertisers might want to consider your humanizing approach — I liked your backstory better than anything overheard on Twitter.

Oh, with as much discussion as this ad generated, I expect to see more ads like this one. I’m jaded. Humanity is on a race to the bottom.
