When was the last time YOU were in the hot seat? Fielding questions from two sides without knowing what was coming? Answering probes about your childhood, your failings, and your dreams?
This week, I spent an hour with Shark Tank’s Leslie Haywood and Eric Cox. They interviewed me for their radio show Beyond the Business, airing Saturday mornings at 8am on WSC Radio 94.3.
.
I haven’t been on the radio since high school, and THAT was an accident. I was a cheerleader, and I was driving myself and two other girls to a game in a neighboring town.
I got lost. Very lost.
We kept driving past a radio station, its tower the only landmark on the skyline. After twenty desperate passes, I turned into the place and hoped someone would tell me how to find the game.
After we scared the crap out of the building’s only occupant, the on-air DJ, he agreed to help, but only if we’d let him give us directions (AND MAKE FUN OF US) on the radio. Given how it went, I’ve been reluctant to sit for radio interviews or podcasts.
Until this week.
How did I handle my interview?
You be the judge. Listen to the snippet and tune in Saturday, February 13 at 8am. If you’re outside the Charleston, South Carolina area, a podcast will be available next week. I’ll share it here.
And check out other episodes of Beyond the Business, the podcast of Atlantic Coast Advisory Group. Maybe you’ll be inspired to volunteer for the hot seat. Find links HERE.

“Where did your main character come from?” How honest did I want to be? Did I even know? It turned out okay, but I’d have to go back and listen to remember what I said.
i’m sure you were great – looking forward to the podcast. )
Oh man! I’ll have to go on their website to listen to the podcast. “Marketing dynamo.” Love that! 😀
