In 1899, the Town of Belhaven was officially incorporated. Defined by its deep harbor, the small town thrived during the 20th century with lumber and saw mills and oyster and fishing industries. In 1928, it became the last link of the Intracoastal Waterway, completing the connection from Beaufort to Boston and making Belhaven a scenic water-town destination for boating, birding, fishing, as well as shopping and dining.
Sponsored by Between Water & Main Bed & Breakfast, I’ll be going to Belhaven’s Wilkinson Center, 144 W. Main St., Sun., Feb. 11, 2018, 3-4 p.m., to present “I Walked 444 Miles to Make a Memory,” a hilarious, motivational program about my New York Times best-selling memoir “Not Without My Father.” Book sales and signing to follow.

I love where I’m living, however, I’d sure love to come to the East and visit with you and envelope myself in your hilarious motivational speech. Have I told you lately that I absolutely adore your voice? I do, oh yes, I do. Sweetness just pours out of your mouth. Never lose your voice.
I’m hoping to be in OR again the week of March 19 and in LA the following week. We’ve got to get a few more confirmed events to make that possible.
