This is one of those days. A million things to do, and all I want to do is sleep. So I put up a crazy post last night, written partly in a dream state. If you haven’t read it, the post is here: Andra Watkins’s Readers Have the Best Comments.
I have staggered from thing to thing to thing today, unable to stop checking my phone at every teeny break, because of the big, fat comment party some of you have been having on my site. Thank you for the laughs. It was especially bad when I guffawed during an FBI agent’s cyber fraud presentation……
I have no idea how to score the winners. I’ll just tell you who they are, and you can decide who should win.
Photo number One is Lori O’Leary. She lives in Boise, Idaho. While driving between Mount Cook and Queenstown, New Zealand, MTM kept uttering, “This looks like Idaho.” I’ve never been to Idaho, but every time it’s mentioned, I think of Lori.
Photo Number Two is Kenneth Andrews. I actually snapped it and sent it to him on Google + the minute I saw it on a Melbourne street. It represents so much about what makes Kenneth Kenneth. He is such a dear.
Photo Number Three is Helena Hann-Basquiat, though I’ll take her Princess Penelope of Arcadia answer. She knows these people better than I do. I snapped this lovely pub in the South Yarra section of Melbourne, because Arcadia made me think of her immediately.
Photo Number Four is Cheryl Smithem. Cheryl mentioned that she likes to take pictures of flowers, and she does, but she also gives regular updates about birdlife in the marsh outside her Folly Beach home. I thought of her often as I viewed the exotic birdlife in the Southern Hemisphere. As Lou Mello already told you, this shot is from Sydney’s Royal Botanical Garden.
Photo Number Five is Carnell, AND I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU DIDN’T GET THAT, CARNELL. You told me to go see these tall ships in Sydney, and I went down there specifically to take this picture for you. The Australian Maritime Museum is on Darling Harbour.
Photo Number Six…….Penny at Life on the Cutoff, you don’t know how many times I snapped this little bee, all the while thinking of you. Penny documents the bee population around her suburban Chicago home. It was from her that I first learned the fragile state of our worldwide bee population. Moving colonies of bees around the world is causing rapid bee death. I was happy to see so many of these little creatures in Melbourne’s Royal Botanical Garden, doing what they are programmed to do.
I’ve got a drink coaster from the Melbourne hot spot Naked for Satan for the winner. (Yes, it really does say “Naked for Satan.”) You tell me, Dear Readers. Who should win?

I thought the ship might be for me because I asked you about that, but I didn’t want to guess myself because I thought that would be presumptuous and self-important. Didn’t want to assume you thought about me.
But how could that Star Wars program not be Kenneth. I knew it instantly. It us do him!!
well I do have the legs for it, my good man!
Gag!
I’d like to say that I’d have gotten all of them, Andra… but unfortunately, I can’t. I’ll try better next time…
Well I tagged onto Lou’s comment so I really cannot claim to be a winner…except that I thought the first photo reminded me of places I’ve biked..so, naturally, I thought it was me. 🙂
I think Kenneth should win.He of all ppl appreciate a coaster with that sentiment. (And thanks for the white bird pic…today at Little Oak we have 7 new ducklings, and a host of great egrets with their breeding plumage.)
naked = you have on no clothes
nekkid = you have on no clothes and you’re up to something
words of wisdom
Kenneth I trust you to know the difference between the two
No idea. I take showers in my swim trunks and floaties.
Oh, well, I didn’t get any of these. Better luck next time.
Hugs from Ecuador,
Kathy
all i am sure of, is that i did not win. maybe we can determine the winner by having those who lost out themselves.
Keep playing! I’m sure I’ll get better at it. 🙂 I hope you’re getting back to your usual sleeping rhythms. 🙂
I say you give “As” for effort and save the prize for another round! (Fun to see I was in the ballpark with the 1st and 6th. 🙂 )
. . . and I just came in from snapping a shot for BeeSpotters. 🙂
I collect ships & lighthouses. So, with that in mind I think that picture should win. When I think of Carnell, I think of trains, not ships. Oh well…
You do have some of the best readers, a.
I loved the bird and the bee!
