It’s Meriwether Lewis’ Birthday Month!

Meriwether Lewis was born in August. As it turns out, so was my father. (No wonder I conflated the two of them in a novel........) During the month of August, my site is turning into a month-long celebration of Merry's birthday. Every day, I'll post Meriwether Lewis trivia. Sometimes, you'll hear from me about how the Lewis and Clark Expedition inspired me. You may even hear from Merry himself.

During the month of August, my site is turning into a month-long celebration of Merry’s birthday. Every day, I’ll post Meriwether Lewis trivia. Sometimes, you’ll hear from me about how the Lewis and Clark Expedition inspired me.

You may even hear from Merry himself.

I’m grateful to Merry for sitting in for me here and there while I embark upon a writing retreat to finish my memoir about my Natchez Trace walk and the gift of time with my father near the end of his life

Advance copies of Not Without My Father will be available October 1, 2014, and the book will officially launch January 2, 2015. (Launch party already booked at a pee-my-pants-incredible Nashville venue.)

In the meantime, honor Merry’s birthday by learning more about him, by reading a novel that honors him and by purchasing copies for family, friends and frenemies.

Kindle copies will be $2.99 in honor of Meriwether Lewis’ birthday month, and a new paperback version is available now.

Click below to give Merry the birthday gift of remembrance.

Or, if you know someone who’s balked at paying $4.99 for a novel that’s garnering great reviews, share this post with them and let them know about the discounted price.

Heck, at $2.99, you can give the gift of reading to several people in your life.
