We interrupt this Meriwether Lewis Birthday Month Program for some official business.
Because I’m all about business.
(Especially the kind Lewis and Clark documented on their expedition……)
Ahem.
Yesterday, my post did not go out by email to any subscriber. It was not shared with any linked social media outlet.
A couple of you have let me know that you are no longer getting my posts via email, even though you are subscribed to them.
Is anyone else having this problem with WordPress? If we ban together, maybe we’ll find someone who knows how to fix it.

TODAY’S MERIWETHER LEWIS BIRTHDAY MONTH TRIVIA QUESTION:
WHO WOULD’VE BEEN MORE PROFICIENT WITH COMPUTERS? LEWIS? OR CLARK? WHY?
Answer to yesterday’s Meriwether Lewis Birthday Month Trivia Question: WHO WAS WILLIAM CLARK’S COMMANDING OFFICER WHEN CLARK MET LEWIS?
ANSWER: William Clark’s immediate superior officer when he met Lewis may have been none other than James Wilkinson, though Clark probably met Wilkinson earlier in his career. For a while, Clark was enamored of the dynamic Wilkinson and strove to emulate him.
Something shifted. (Perhaps Clark saw through Wilkinson?) And Clark stopped admiring the resilient general. Wilkinson served the first five Presidents of the United States, in spite of conspiring to establish a separate country and spying for the Spanish crown. He’s one of those forgotten historical figures who was bad enough to be remembered.
And I hope I’ve helped Wilkinson’s memory with my novel.

I received an email yesterday at 9:44 am with the link to “Dead People Follow Me, and They Talk to Me.” Maybe the timing was just off?
Historius interruptus. I’ve given up on being notified by email. Something broke and I doubt it’s on your end. I know it’s not on mine. The Fickle Finger of Fate, I think, points at WP.
Maybe WP is simply selecting recipients at random? 🙂 So far, at least, I seem to be getting every post via email….although sometimes they’re a bit later than others.
I received it sometime late morning yesterday. I saw the post on FB and wondered why it wasn’t in my inbox early in the am as usual.
i’m still getting them through email as of this moment –
I got an email yesterday and saw your post – hmmmm
I got the email…
I have experienced no interruption of my business…
I got the post yesterday about dead people talking to you. I received it at 9:44 a.m.
No issues here, Andra just the usual problems getting through my inbox. 🙂 Enjoy your writing time in the mountains.
I’m still getting emails to announce your posts. No issues here.
I am receiving the email messages…so far. 😉
In getting my a through the e, mail
No problems, here, Andra – though I did have to approve of two commenters who were already approved. ?????
I am getting the emails!
I know that one of my email subscribers told me that she stopped getting my blog’s emails a few months ago. They just stopped. She didn’t care because she’s on WP and just uses the reader instead. Don’t know if this helps in any way, but it does suggest that WP can be iffy.
I recall getting the “dead men follow me” post, even if I couldn’t click the link (work WP prohibition, not anything wrong with the link itself).
I’d better check my email. I just normally stop over here each day.
All fine here Andra although I have seen a few people having issues
This has happened to me in the past. Blurry WordPress: there are still people finding their way back to me through the murky waters of the blogosphere. All the best as you try to sort it out, Andra.
I still get your posts via email, Andra; though I wouldn’t place much stock in WordPress’ tech support. Even after I figures out that my theme was suppressing pingbacks, they still insisted that wasn’t the problem. Denial in the face of evidence? I don’t know about that . . .
